“”We all eat and it would be a sad waste of opportunity to eat badly” – Anna Thomas

A luxury retreat

The Green re-Treat is a luxury, purpose-designed self-catering suite. The fully equipped, modern unit includes a living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and a private outside deck. It is a contemporary addition to a 19th century lock house with its own entrance and complete privacy. It is close to a working canal lock where boats and barges may be viewed going about their journeys on the waterways.

Green re-Treat is well stocked with books, music and art materials to stimulate creativity and creative thinking.

All bedding and towels are supplied. Should you have a favourite pillow, blanky or “bed pet”, bring it along as well as walking shoes, wellies, rain coats, hats etc.

Meals and groceries

The beauty of the Green re-Treat is that you spend your time as you wish; with no set mealtimes, you can spend as much or as little time as you please preparing meals for yourself (from Monday lunchtime, guests prepare their own meals).

Each morning we will take your grocery list and have the groceries delivered before lunch time. Please note, we’ll provide for your requests as best we can given what is available at the local supermarkets.

Guests are welcome to harvest whatever is in season from the adjoining organic vegetable patch, where a spot of weeding can be an excellent form of therapy in itself!
